UI Director - Instruction

Eric is an experienced educator who has devoted his career to transforming the learning environment in classrooms to be more student-centered and transformational. His experience in strategic planning, leadership development, talent acquisition and retention as well as instructional design will enable school leaders to create, implement, and measure systems that foster authentic learning experiences for students and adults. Eric has served diverse communities and believes that public education must be focused on equitable outcomes for all students. Eric’s career in public education began as a middle school teacher and coach. He also served as a high school principal, Director of High School Education, Assistant Superintendent, and as a division superintendent for nine years. Eric received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Teaching degrees from the University of Virginia and his Master of Education and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University.
